(KSL News) Three out of four Utahns want a tough new immigration measure to remain in place.

A legislative panel is now evaluating a new law that would prevent undocumented workers from getting jobs or public benefits.

According to a KSL-TV and Deseret News poll, 55 percent of those polled say lawmakers should keep that law and look into further action. Nineteen percent agreed but said tougher laws aren't needed.

Another 19 percent believed the law should be repealed and handled at the federal level.
