INSTITUTE, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia State University says a new fellowship program allows minority students to work alongside media professionals to tell the state's story, including its diverse ethnic history.
The one-year, paid West Virginia Media Diversity Fellowship was created by the university and West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
The university says students will promote diversity in all aspects of public broadcasting development, including news, social media, television and radio.
The program's first Fellows are media studies graduate students Ikram Benaicha and Scotty White.
