LEWISBERRY, Pa. (AP) — Sign-waving, cheering fans lined the streets to welcome home Lewisberry's Red Land Little League team, which made it to the finals of the 2015 Little League World Series championship.
Although the team lost 18-11 to Japan on Sunday, family members' and friends' pride and the thrill of being in the competition won out over their disappointment.
Chelsea Covington of New Cumberland is a 2011 graduate of Red Land High School. She tells The Patriot-News in Harrisburg that Red Land's achievement is "the biggest thing that has happened" in the little town. "It's crazy."
