LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jake Arrieta (ehr-ee-ET'-uh) of the Cubs is going for his 17th win of the season tonight. The Cubbies are finishing off a three-game series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Arrieta enters the game 16-2 with a 2.22 earned run average.

NEW YORK (AP) — In an attempt to improve their bullpen, the National League East-leading New York Mets have acquired right-handed reliever Addison Reed from Arizona. In return the Diamondbacks are getting two minor league pitchers. The 26-year-old Reed was 2-2 with a 4.20 ERA in 38 games for Arizona this year.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Browns rookie running back Duke Johnson is following the NFL's protocol on head injuries after sustaining a concussion in yesterday's win over Tampa Bay. With Johnson out, coach Mike Pettine (PET'-ihn) says the Browns will consider signing another running back. He wouldn't say if former Baltimore back Ray Rice is a possibility.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — John Daly has been released from a hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, after suffering what his agent says is a collapsed lung. The two-time major winner was taken to a hospital after he collapsed on the 18th tee during an outing at Deerfield Country Club.

SONOMA, Calif. (AP) — The IndyCar circuit is putting the finishing touches on the 2015 season today in Sonoma, California. Will Power won the pole yesterday and the overall points leader is Juan Pablo Montoya.
