The Republican presidential candidate spoke before a rally at the headquarters of Alder Home Security in Orem. Paul called support for billionaire Donald Trump "insane" and said voters will "come to their senses" and pick a candidate with more substance.

SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) — Police shot and killed a man in Spanish Fork after they say he pulled a gun on officers. The family of 28-year-old William Evans had asked police to check on him after he posted suicidal content on Facebook. Officers later discovered that Evans had taken heroin and made comments about how he was going to be in a shootout with police.

OREM, Utah (AP) — Police in Orem are searching for whoever shot out the windows of more than 100 cars and 10 structures in the past week. Police believe the culprits are driving around in a car with a BB gun and shooting randomly. So far, no injuries have been reported. A $500 reward is being offered for information that leads to charges.

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — The Montana attorney general's office won't investigate fraud claims against a Utah lawmaker leading a push for western states to take control of federal lands. A spokesman says the office found no grounds for investigating Republican Rep. Ken Ivory.
