SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Prominent horse owners Marylou Whitney and Ogden Mills "Dinny" Phipps were inducted into Saratoga Race Course's "Walk of Fame" on Friday, the day before Triple Crown winner American Pharoah runs in the Travers Stakes.

Whitney, who campaigned 2004 Belmont Stakes and Travers winner Birdstone, has helped raise millions of dollars to help racetrack workers and retired horses, among other causes.

Phipps, whose family has been involved with racing for decades as owners and breeders, has been chairman of The Jockey Club and is retiring this year.
