SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — State and county officials are expected to announce today whether the world's largest outdoor retail show will stay in Salt Lake City. The Outdoor Retailer Show, which has been coming twice a year to Utah for nearly two decades, is only committed through 2016. Show officials have said they want to stay in Utah but are considering other cities because of a shortage of hotel rooms and insufficient convention center space in Salt Lake City.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A national effort to rally against Planned Parenthood brought about 100 people to a Planned Parenthood facility in Salt Lake City. The protesters on Saturday held signs with messages such as "save the babies" and "abortion hurts women." Planned Parenthood is planning a rally at the state capitol tomorrow to protest Gov. Gary Herbert's decision to cut off federal money for the organization.

HEBER CITY, Utah (AP) — A Heber City man who was paralyzed from the chest down five years ago in a car crash is standing up again two years after getting an experimental implant that stimulates his spinal cord. KSL-TV reports that Dustin Shillcox is one of six people to take part of part in clinical test by researchers at the University of Louisville. He's working on being able to stand alone, and hopes to walk again someday.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A World War II veteran who took part in the D-Day invasion that helped defeat the Nazis has died in Utah. John Moody says his uncle Lester Metz, died yesterday at his Salt Lake City home at age 98. Metz was among thousands of Allied troops who stormed Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944 while under German attack. Funeral services are Wednesday at Christ United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City.
