OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) — Delightful Joy made a run through the stretch and posted a two-length victory over favored Eskenformoney in the $100,000 Monmouth Oaks at Monmouth Park on Saturday.

Trained by Chad Brown, Delightful Joy ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:43 3/5. The Paco Lopez-ridden filly paid $8.20, $4.20 and $3.20 in posting her first stakes victory and third win in five career starts.

Eskenformoney returned $4 and $3. It was another neck back to White Clover, who paid $5.20 to show.

"I was told to get a good start and see where I was after the break," Lopez said. "I wanted to be comfortable and I tucked in a little behind. When I asked her, she gave me everything she had."
