HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Marshall University has slashed the price of courses for some high school students who want to earn college credits simultaneously.
The university announced Thursday that students enrolled in the program will now pay $25 per credit hour. Previously they paid $84 per credit hour.
The program offers classes that count for both high school and college credit. Marshall Graduate College interim dean David Pittenger says the program lets advanced students complete basic undergraduate courses before they graduate high school.
The program is available to high school upperclassmen who qualify in Cabell, Wayne, Randolph and Webster counties, as well as St. Joseph's High School and Grace Christian School in Huntington. Pittenger says Marshall is working to expand the program to high schools in additional counties.
