MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The interim commissioner of the Vermont Department of Mental Health is getting the job permanently.
Before becoming interim director in June, Frank Reed had served as deputy commissioner.
Reed's appointment was announced Thursday by Gov. Peter Shumlin.
In other staff changes announced by Shumlin's office: Christopher Herrick has been named director of the Vermont Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. Herrick succeeded Joe Flynn who recently became deputy commissioner of the Department of Public Safety.
Tom Cheney was appointed deputy commissioner at the Department of Human Resources
The governor also announced that Laura Gray, James Pepper and Jahala Dudley will take new jobs in his office.
