LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The initial search committee for a new University of Wyoming president plans to seek public comment about the qualifications and characteristics wanted in a new president.
During the initial meeting of the first presidential search committee Wednesday, members agreed to solicit such comment during meetings on campus and possibly at other locations in the state. The sessions likely will be scheduled in September and will be led by a consulting firm assisting with the search.
Current President Dick McGinity has decided to step down when his contract expires.
The UW Board of Trustees has established two committees to review candidates whose names will be kept confidential. Trustees will be provided three to five finalists, who will be identified.
Trustees could select the next president as early as late December.
