OGDEN, Utah (AP) — The Weber County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 4-year-old girl died of an apparent drowning in an Ogden swimming pool. BRIGHAM CITY, Utah (AP) — Police in northern Utah are investigating what caused a fire that razed a historic Brigham City building already damaged by previous fires. The Standard Examiner in Ogden reports that the most recent blaze at the Baron Woolen Mills building started July 20. It came a year after another fire that police say was started by a 17-year-old playing with matches, marking the fourth fire and the second arson there since 2008.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson is suing the National Security Agency over what he calls a mass warrantless surveillance program monitoring texts, emails and phone calls during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Anderson says the suit could be expanded to hundreds of thousands of people. The NSA did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
