SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police arrested a Huntsville man Thursday, saying he robbed a Zions Bank, according to officials.
Jared T. Long, 24, entered the bank at 3880 S. 700 East around noon and passed a note to a teller that demanded cash, according to South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller.
Long fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, Keller said. He did not threaten anyone or brandish a weapon during the robbery, and no one was injured, Keller said.
The suspect reportedly fled on foot and ran northwest across the parking lot, a witness told police.
Shortly after police arrived, they got a lead that helped them identify Long, Keller said. They also received information that Long may be heading to a motel in the Provo area.
Police found Long's vehicle at a Provo motel. Long was sitting inside the car and looked unattentive, so police quickly boxed him in.
Long was arrested without incident and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail in connection with robbery. Long has not been formally charged yet.
The Salt Lake County district attorney will screen this case.
