(KSL News) Birth certificates issued by the state of Utah could play a key role into the investigation of possible sexual abuse at a Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) ranch in Texas.
The director of the Utah Office of Vital Records and Statistics tells the Salt Lake Tribune that the birth certificates of about 50 people have been requested by an investigator based out of Arizona who may be working with Texas officials on possible charges against members of the FLDS Church.
The birth certificates needed were identified on a spreadsheet referencing records taken from the FLDS compound in Texas in April.
Texas officials have not commented on the investigator's request.
