One Utah's most popular and successful high school basketball coaches, Taylorsville's John Bowman, died Tuesday morning from complications due to brain cancer. He was 57.

Bowman, who also taught at Taylorsville, was diagnosed with five brain tumors last November, but still coached the Warriors for most of the 2005-06 season. He died at home surrounded by his family and friends.

Last Winter, Kathy Aiken told the story of Coach Bowman as he coached his team all season while battling cancer.
