TORONTO (CP) - Olympic women's hockey team captain Cassie Campbell says she is leaning towards retirement.

The 32-year-old forward from Brampton, Ont., has been captain of the national women's hockey team since 2001 and most recently in a gold-medal effort at the Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. She has played in seven world championships and three Olympic Games for Canada.

"If anything, I'll be definitely taking a year off and dabbling in a few different things," Campbell said Monday prior to a gala honouring the Olympic team.

"Right now, I think I'm not going to play, but it's still not 100 per cent. I'm just sort of playing out that four or five per cent that wants to play."
