SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Lawyers for polygamist leader Warren Jeffs want to keep any evidence collected from the raid on a Texas polygamist ranch this spring out of his Arizona trial.
Jeffs faces sexual misconduct charges for his role in performing underage marriages. The judge handling the Arizona case dismissed four incest as an accomplice charges earlier this week.
Jeff's' defense team filed papers late Thursday in Mohave County court saying they plan to seek suppression of anything seized at the Yearning For Zion Ranch in Texas.
His lawyers says it's becoming increasingly clear that evidence collected at the Texas ranch was based on a "hoax telephone call."
