SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors have filed a new money laundering charge against former Utah Attorney General John Swallow. Court records show that prosecutors also dropped a charge against Swallow today, leaving the number of counts against him at 14. Swallow and his predecessor, Mark Shurtleff, have denied any wrongdoing.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City officials are asking residents to join them in opposing a proposal to put a new state prison near Salt Lake City International Airport. KSL-TV reports the legislature's commission on the project is nearing its summer deadline to make a recommendation on the site of the prison. The airport site is one of five being considered.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — State lawmakers say they're hopeful they'll work out a compromise this year to allow Tesla Motors to sell its electric cars in Utah. Tesla Motors built a showroom in Salt Lake City, but weeks before a planned opening in March, the Utah attorney general's office ruled that they couldn't sell cars under state laws barring a manufacturer from owning more than 45 percent of any dealership.

FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) — Farmington Canyon will be closed while crews knock down loose debris from canyon walls following the fall a five-ton boulder. The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports that a Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest road crew is working to clear the area after blasting the fallen boulder yesterday.
