HOUSTON (AP) — It will be the Houston Rockets against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA's Western Conference finals, beginning Tuesday in Oakland. James Harden poured in 31 points and the Rockets never trailed in taking Game 7 of the conference semifinals, 113-100 over the Los Angeles Clippers. Dwight Howard finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds in helping Houston reach the conference finals for the first time in 18 years.

ANAHEIM (AP) — Hampus Lindholm, Nate Thompson and Jakob Silfverberg each finished with a goal and an assist as the Anaheim Ducks took Game 1 of the NHL's Western Conference finals, beating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1. Frederik Andersen made 16 of his 32 saves in the first period and helped Anaheim kill off an early Chicago power play, keeping the game scoreless until Lindholm scored 8:48 into the game. Kyle Palmieri scored the eventual game-winner for the Ducks, who host Game 2 on Tuesday.

MIAMI (AP) — Shelby Miller came within one out of throwing the Atlanta Braves' first no-hitter since Kent Mercker (MUR'-kur) in 1994. Miller's bid ended when pinch-hitter Justin Bour hit a first-pitch single to center, but the Braves' hurler completed a two-hitter in a 6-0 shutout of the Miami Marlins. Miller has pitched well since joining the Braves from St. Louis last November, going 5-1 with a 1.33 ERA.

MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Marlins will have a new manager in place for tonight's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mike Redmond was dismissed yesterday after going 166-207 in two-plus seasons at the helm. The Marlins are just 16-22 this season and a half-game ahead of the last-place Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — World No. 1 Rory McIlroy won for the second time in three weeks, a record-breaking performance in the Wells Fargo Championship. McIlroy followed Saturday's 61 with a 3-under 69 to finish at minus-21, shattering the tournament mark by five strokes. He was seven shots clear of Webb Simpson and Patrick Rodgers.
