LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are investigating after a man was killed in an apparent drug-related shooting in the backyard of a Las Vegas home. Officers say the victim was shot multiple times early Saturday during a confrontation with other men who fled.

STATELINE, Nev. (AP) — A water board has given a resort on Lake Tahoe's south shore final approval to expand its summer attractions. Heavenly Mountain Resort's plan will add zip line and tree canopy tours, a mountain bike park and other attractions. The U.S. Forest Service and Tahoe Regional Planning Agency already approved the plans.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Senate has passed a bill to repeal the state's partial ban on wineries. The bill would let wineries in Clark and Washoe counties import wine from other states and serve alcoholic beverages on their premises. A winery in Pahrump initially opposed the bill, saying it could harm the state's four existing wineries.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A controversial bill that would allow some hearsay evidence in the early stages of sensitive court cases has received Senate approval. It would allow a child sex abuse or domestic violence victim's statement to police, rather than firsthand testimony, in a preliminary hearing or grand jury proceedings. The bill already passed the Assembly.
