MADRID (AP) — Spanish officials say police have busted a drug-dealing gang and arrested 11 people on suspicion of trafficking in narcotics in northern region of Rioja.

Alberto Breton, a regional Interior Ministry spokesman, said the suspects were part of an organization based in the city of Logrono made up of four ringleaders who acquired and packaged drugs including cocaine, amphetamines, marijuana and hashish and seven others who distributed the substances throughout the renowned winemaking region.

Police said Saturday that two of the ringleaders were Spanish men and the others were a man and a woman from Colombia. The arrests began in April and the final suspect was nabbed last week.

Police seized a drug laboratory, drugs worth 830,000 euros ($950,000), weapons, ammunition, two luxury vehicles and a motorcycle.
