TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — It took roughly 30 people from three agencies to rescue a woman whose parachute got snagged while jumping from the Snake River bridge in south-central Idaho earlier this week. But it's hardly the first incident that has required an emergency response. The Times-News newspaper in Twin Falls reports that the sheriff's office has responded to eight BASE jumping-related deaths at the Perrine Bridge since 2003, and another 23 injuries since 2006.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is inviting all anglers, novice to veteran, to cast their line in Idaho without a license on June 13. The agency is encouraging parents to bring their children out for Free Fishing Day, perhaps sparking an early interest in fishing. Don't have a pole? The department is providing equipment and fishing experts in select locations in southwestern Idaho.

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana wildlife officials are considering stricter regulations to prevent Canada lynx from being caught in traps set for other animals outside Glacier and Yellowstone national parks. Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials presented the plan to the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission yesterday. It is part of a settlement agreement in a lawsuit filed by three environmental groups in 2013 over trapping in the threatened species' habitat.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The College of Idaho is trying to ban an app named after the 1950s novelty song, "Yakety Yak," due to students reporting cases of harassment. The Idaho Statesman reports that the college's Student Senate passed a resolution to make the school a Yik Yak-free zone after seven students reported being personally threatened on the app. Yik Yak uses GPS to create a hyper-local chat room and lets users share their thoughts with people around them while remaining anonymous.
