DETROIT (AP) — An attorney for the family of a 20-year-old Detroit man fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent says at least one of the bullets struck him in the back.
Karri Mitchell told reporters Friday that he saw Terrance Kellom's body at a funeral home.
Kellom was killed on April 27. A police task force was seeking him on armed robbery and weapons charges.
Police say Kellom lunged with a hammer before he was shot. His father, Kevin Kellom, has disputed the police account.
An autopsy determined he had been shot multiple times.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is conducting a separate investigation into the shooting. She has ordered that the autopsy report not be made public.
Groups have protested the slaying.
