NEW ROADS, La. (AP) — The acting superintendent of the special school district for the Louisiana Department of Education is set to step in as Pointe Coupee Parish's next school superintendent
Ronald Lemoine was chosen to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of superintendent Linda D'Amico.
The Advocate reports (http://theadvocate.com/news/12353360-123/pointe-coupee-taps-lemoine-as) the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board voted unanimously Monday night to begin contract negotiations with Lemoine after conducting a second round of interviews with the top three candidates for the position.
Lemoine beat out Lisa D'Aquila, the school system's supervisor of personnel and accountability, and Anthony Cain, a principal at Howard School in Ruston.
Lemoine has 15 years' experience as a school administrator at the middle, high school and district levels as well as 13 years of classroom experience as a teacher.
