KATHMANDU, Nepal (AP) — A search and rescue team already has begun looking for anyone trapped after another powerful earthquake struck Nepal. Nepal's Home Ministry says the death toll is now at least 19 with nearly a thousand people injured in the 7.3-magnitude tremor that caused a number of buildings in the isolated town of Chautara to collapse. Chautara has become a hub for humanitarian aid in the wake of last month's quake that killed more than 8,100 people.

MOSCOW (AP) — A report containing material compiled by slain Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov says at least 220 Russian soldiers died in two battles in eastern Ukraine within the past year. The Russian Defense Ministry has denied that any of its soldiers are fighting in Ukraine, and it says Russians who've joined separatists are volunteers. Today's report claims the soldiers were released from their duties and listed as volunteers.

BEIRUT (AP) — An international aid group says Syria has been so contaminated with weapons and bombs that the lives of 5.1 million people are at constant risk. Handicap International, which helps the disabled during conflicts, is calling on all parties in the war to abide by international humanitarian law and immediately end use of explosives in populated areas. The group says civilians, including 2 million children, "are in grave danger, as 75 percent of these incidents took place in populated areas."

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The agent for New England Patriot Tom Brady says Brady will appeal his four-game suspension and that the team is giving him its "unconditional" support. The NFL handed Brady the punishment yesterday for using improperly inflated footballs in the AFC Championship game. The Patriots were penalized $1 million and were docked two draft picks. Brady's agent Don Yee says, "The discipline is ridiculous and has no legitimate basis."

CHICAGO (AP) — President Barack Obama has decided to build his presidential library on the South Side of Chicago, where his political career began. The Barack Obama Foundation says a bid by the University of Chicago was selected over rival proposals by the University of Hawaii, Columbia University in New York and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The city took recent action to secure public park land for the library.
