ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash and hitting coach Derek Shelton have been ejected for arguing after a strikeout.

Shelton was thrown out by plate umpire Mike Estabrook for comments made from the dugout after Tampa Bay's Joey Butler struck out in the fifth inning against Texas on Sunday.

Cash was tossed when he came out of the dugout and walked toward the plate. He was headed back to the dugout before he turned around and returned to the plate area, where the manager kicked a chalk line on the left-handed hitters' side of the batter's box.
