HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Authorities say three people have been arrested in the shooting deaths of two Hattiesburg, Mississippi, police officers after a traffic stop. State Department of Public Safety spokesman Warren Strain says two suspects are brothers -- Curtis and Marvin Banks. Both men are in their 20s. The third suspect in custody is a woman police say was driving the vehicle stopped by officers.

MIAMI (AP) — Forecasters say Tropical Storm Ana (AH'-nah) has lost some strength and should weaken further today as it reaches the coast of northeastern South Carolina or the southern area of North Carolina. A tropical storm warning remains from the South Santee River in South Carolina to Cape Lookout North Carolina. Officials warn of possible rip currents and coastal flooding.

CISCO, Texas (AP) — One person is dead and some people are still unaccounted for in a sparsely populated farming and ranching area of North Texas that was hit by multiple tornadoes. Eastland County Judge Rex Fields says one of the twisters caused "five miles of destruction" as it ravaged homes in a rural area south of the town of Cisco, about 100 miles west of Fort Worth. Authorities have been going house to house to assess the damage, but were slowed by heavy rain.

KATHMANDU, Nepal (AP) — The search for bodies has stopped in a northern Nepal village buried by a landslide. A government administrator Gautam Rimal, says new avalanches made the work dangerous for police and army rescuers. So far, 120 bodies have been recovered from Langtang Valley, a scenic village on a popular trekking route north of Nepal's capital, Kathmandu. An April 25 earthquake that shook Nepal killed more than 8,000 people.

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Some 1,400 people have moved to safer ground from the northeastern tip of the Philippines where a powerful typhoon is approaching. The storm gained strength Sunday and coastal areas are exposed to floods and storm surges. Typhoon Noul has winds of 115 miles per hour and gusts of up to 136 mph.
