LAS VEGAS (AP) — A dispute over B.B. King's health and wealth was tossed out of court today by a judge in Las Vegas who said two investigations found no evidence the blues legend was being abused. The ruling in Clark County Family Court ruling keeps King's longtime business manager, Laverne Toney, in legal control of his affairs. The 89-year-old King has returned home after being hospitalized in Las Vegas last week.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada lawmakers and elected officials are remembering two police officers who were ambushed and killed last year while eating lunch in Las Vegas. Officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo were recognized in an annual law enforcement memorial ceremony held today at the Capitol grounds in Carson City.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada judge will decide if a wrongful termination case against Las Vegas Sands Corp. can proceed nearly five years after it was first filed. District Court Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez heard closing arguments this morning from lawyers representing former Sands China Ltd. CEO Steven Jacobs and casino-hotel company Las Vegas Sands.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A spring storm is moving across the Sierra Nevada, with nearly a foot of snow expected on the mountain tops, and flurries and rain showers in the valleys into tomorrow morning. The National Weather Service reported more than 3 inches of snow early today on Lake Tahoe's western shore at Homewood, California.
