CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) — An inspection of a Clovis school cafeteria has found a bug in its operation in the form of roaches.

The Clovis News Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1dQbqlf) the New Mexico Environment Department issued five violations to Yucca Middle School after an inspection last month turned up live and dead roaches.

The report cites several issues including roach-related cleaning and sanitizing and "needed pest control measures."

Paul Klein, Clovis Municipal Schools director of student nutrition, says the school district has since resolved the matter.

He says a pest control contractor has visited the campus several times since the April 21 inspection.

The department also suggested that school staff may need more training on sanitary practices.

The school received the highest number of violations in the district.

Thirteen others in the district received none.
