ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Oakland University is exploring potential future uses for a campus residence the suburban Detroit school maintains for its presidents.
Sunset Terrace, which was built as a retirement and guest home for the school's benefactors Alfred and Matilda Wilson, has been designated as Oakland University's presidential residence since 1974.
The Oakland Press of Pontiac reports (http://bit.ly/1Ijx50j ) new concepts include a development and alumni center as well as a Dodge Museum. John Dodge, co-founder of Dodge Brothers Motor Cars, was the first husband of Matilda Dodge Wilson.
Some of the school's previous presidents have lived in the home, while others, including current leader George Hynd, have lived elsewhere. Oakland University's campus spans more than 1,400 acres in the Oakland County cities of Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills.
