COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Nevada will host the World Veteran Table Tennis Championship in 2018.

USA Table Tennis announced Tuesday that the tournament for players 40 and over will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 18-24, 2018.

Players from more than 70 countries are expected to participate in the event that's held every two years.

Las Vegas was selected from a field of bidders that included Suwon, South Korea, Kobe, Japan, and Bordeaux, France. The 2016 event will be held in Spain.

USATT chief executive officer Gordon Kaye says "we will put on a world-class event for the organizers, participants and guests."
