CONYERS, Ga. (AP) — Sheriff's officials say a student has been taken into custody after a shot was fired inside a middle school.

Cpl. Michael Camp with the Rockdale County Sheriff's office says a single shot was fired Tuesday afternoon inside a boys' restroom at Conyers Middle School. Camp says a student has been taken into custody, and no injuries have been reported. The student's identity hasn't been released.

Camp says the gun has been recovered and the school has been placed on lockdown.

Camp says investigators are doing a precautionary sweep of the building to check for any additional weapons.
