NEW YORK (AP) — A suspect is in custody in the shooting of a plainclothes New York City police officer who was critically wounded this evening in the Queens Village neighborhood. Deputy Chief Kim Royster says the officer is at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. City Hall officials say the mayor is at the hospital.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is calling for a statewide "Day Of Prayer And Peace" on Sunday after civil unrest rocked Baltimore following the death of Freddie Gray, who had been seriously injured in police custody. Hogan will attend a service at a local church with Archbishop William E. Lori. Tonight, police have made some arrests for curfew violations.

KATHMANDU, Nepal (AP) — Medicine, medical equipment, tents and water supplies are desperately needed now in Nepal where a massive earthquake devastated cities and remote mountain villages last week. Officials say the death toll from last weekend's magnitude-7.8 quake has climbed past 7,000. The Home Ministry says 14,123 people were injured in the April 25 quake.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The winner of the 141st Kentucky Derby is American Pharoah. It was jockey Victor Espinoza's second straight Derby win. American Pharoah ran the 1 1/4 mile track at Churchill Downs in 2:03.02. Firing line came in second and Dortmund was third. The largest Derby crowd ever — 170,513 —watched the first leg of the Triple Crown under sunny skies.

LAS VEGAS (AP) —In just a short while, one of the most hyped fights in boxing history will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas -- unbeaten Floyd Mayweather against Manny Pacquiao (PAK'-ee-ow). The 38-year-old Mayweather is 47-0. He weighed in at 146 pounds. Pacquiao is 57-5-2 lifetime, and he's two years younger than Mayweather at 36. Pacquiao weighed in at 145.
