METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The New Orleans Saints have selected Missouri running back Marcus Murphy in the seventh and final round of the NFL draft.

The 5-foot-8, 193-pound Murphy was productive last season as a runner, receiver and returner.

He rushed for 924 yards and four touchdowns last season, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. He caught 28 passes for 212 yards and a score. He also had two touchdowns on kickoff returns and another score on a punt return.

Murphy was only the third offensive player taken by New Orleans in nine total draft picks. The others were Stanford offensive tackle Andrus Peat and Colorado State quarterback Garrett Grayson.

The Saints did not draft a receiving target despite trading away star tight end Jimmy Graham and wide receiver Kenny Stills.
