TUKWILA, Wash. (AP) — Developers of a privately funded arena in the Seattle suburb of Tukwila have filed an environmental application containing details of the proposed facility.

RLB Holdings Sports and Entertainment LLC filed the application with the city of Tukwila on Friday for the "Northwest Arena."

The proposal calls for the arena and parking structure to be used for about 230 events each year. The arena would have capacity for 19,500 depending on the event and configuration and would have a capacity of 17,500 and 18,500 for NBA and NHL events.

The arena footprint would be 195,000 square feet and be 140 feet at its highest point.

The city released documents pertaining to the proposed arena earlier this week, which included letters from the city's mayor supporting the prospect of bringing basketball and hockey franchises to the area.
