SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania public school tutor charged with having sex with a 16-year-old student will serve probation in a first-offender's program on a reduced charge of corruption of minors.
Somerset County District Attorney Lisa Lazzari-Strasiser told the (Somerset) Daily American (http://bit.ly/1E1IlZp) she agreed to the deal because 23-year-old Kaitlyn McCool will lose her state teacher's license as part of the agreement.
The Johnstown woman was charged in February after a Windber student told police he had a sexual relationship with McCool over Christmas vacation and in January.
McCool worked as a tutor for Intermediate Unit 8, which provides programs to schools in Bedford, Blair, Cambria and Somerset counties.
McCool can ask the court to expunge her record if she completes the probation successfully. A judge must still set the term of probation.
