MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — A third-grader at Mount Paran Christian School north of Atlanta has started a fundraiser selling his grandmother's pickles to assist a homeless man and women buy a home.
The Marietta Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/1Pcwmyp ) reports 9-year-old Luke Holm debuted his "Pickles with a Purpose" fundraiser Thursday at the 31st annual County Prayer Breakfast. Holm, who founded God Called Me 4 A Purpose in December, is selling his grandmother's sweet and spicy pickles, along with the recipe, to help purchase a home for the couple he met during winter break while helping out at his mother's company.
Holm started a GoFundMe website last week and has a goal of $75,000. As of Thursday, he has raised $5,000.
