ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — After taking offensive lineman Brandon Scherff in the first round of the NFL draft, the Washington Redskins could look for a pass rusher on Day 2.

The Redskins enter Friday's second and third rounds with the 38th and 69th overall picks.

New general manager Scot McCloughan has said he would like to add extra choices in the draft, hoping to improve a roster that went 4-12 last season.

But instead of trading down in the first round Thursday night, McCloughan held onto the No. 5 overall selection and went with Scherff, the Outland Trophy winner from Iowa.

He played left tackle in college, but Redskins coach Jay Gruden said the team plans to move him to right tackle.
