RENO, Nev. (AP) — A prep basketball standout from Los Angeles who's the son of former NBA head coach Larry Drew has decided to play for Nevada next season.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (http://tinyurl.com/lx6uj5t) Lindsey Drew gave a verbal commitment to Wolf Pack coach Eric Musselman after withdrawing an earlier commitment to Arizona State.

The 6-foot-3 point guard was the city section player of the year at Fairfax High, averaging 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists per game last season.

Drew committed to ASU in December, but changed his mind when coach Herb Sendek was fired three months later. Nevada also fired coach David Carter in March and hired the ex-NBA coach Musselman shortly afterward.

Fairfax coach Harvey Kitani told the Gazette-Journal Drew also had interest from Oregon State, Cal and USC.
