SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Gov. Gary Herbert and Republican legislative leaders say they left a meeting with federal officials without a deal or new flexibility to expand Medicaid in Utah. They say the group has agreed to look at ways Utah can more accurately project how much it will cost to expand Medicaid in the state. They say they hope to get more information in the next two to three weeks.

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — Three female inmates of a southern Utah jail have filed a lawsuit alleging a former Washington County sheriff's deputy threatened to punish them if they did not perform sexual favors. The lawsuit filed by inmates of the Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane names the county, the sheriff and former deputy Steven Thayer as defendants. No attorney was listed for Thayer.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A tennis club whose tent was destroyed in a large landslide on a Utah hill last fall is suing North Salt Lake City and the developer who built homes nearby. The Eagleridge Tennis Club argues in a lawsuit filed last week that the city and developers knew the hillside was unstable but didn't stop development.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Newly hired coach Lynne Roberts wants the Utah women's basketball program to mimic the men's team. The Utah men this year advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2008-09 season, four years into coach Larry Krystkowiak's tenure as coach. Roberts was a two-time conference coach of the year during her nine years at Pacific.
