(KSL News) A close call for Utah Highway Patrol.
Overnight, troopers tried to pull over a speeding driver, who was having a hard time maintaining his lane.
The driver didn't stop. He raced along I-15 and then pulled a manuever that surprised troopers hot on his trail.
Thomas DeCarlo, Utah Highway Patrol: "A lot of times people use their blinkers to try to fool us, try to make us believe they're going to go one way, then go another. This time the individual used his signal to indicate the exact direction he planned to travel."
Troopers say the man even yielded to a traffic light at the off-ramp. That's when troopers pulled the man from his car.
The driver wouldn't go down without a fight, and he cut his face in the process. Troopers say he faces several charges, but they still aren't sure why he tried to run.
