MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia has signed junior college transfer Teyvon Myers.
Coach Bob Huggins announced Myers' signing Thursday.
The 6-foot-2 guard was the leading scorer among junior colleges last season, averaging 25 points at Williston State in North Dakota. He made 45 percent of his field goals and shot 85 percent from the free-throw line.
Huggins says Myers brings some much-needed offense. The Mountaineers endured shooting woes last season and suffered their worst-ever loss in the NCAA Tournament, 78-39 to Kentucky in the Midwest Regional semifinals.
Myers joins 6-foot-8 forward Esa Ahmad and 6-foot guard James Bolden in West Virginia's recruiting class.
