NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Auburn Tigers have suspended starting forward Cinmeon Bowers for their Southeastern Conference Tournament semifinal against No. 1 Kentucky.

Coach Bruce Pearl announced the suspension Saturday after Bowers had been listed as a starter. Bowers had been averaging 12.1 points and 9.6 rebounds.

Auburn said in a statement that Pearl had been made aware of a potential rules violation after Auburn beat LSU 73-70 in overtime Friday in the quarterfinals.

Auburn and basketball officials say they will not comment further while they gather information. He started 34 games for Auburn (15-19).

Auburn already is without forward Jordon Granger, suspended for punching LSU forward Jordan Mickey on Friday. He had started 33 games for the Tigers.
