(KSL News) An armed robbery with a rifle in broad daylight has police scratching their heads.
Sgt. Mike Hatch of the Salt Lake City Police Department said, "It's just odd and rare, especially in an open environment like that, that no one saw him other than when he was just leaving the store."
Police say the suspect walked into a coffee shop at 1600 S. State Street yesterday around 5 p.m. carrying a rifle. He demanded cash, was given an undisclosed amount, and then took off.
Only one employee was in the store at the time, and that person wasn't injured.
Anyone with information is asked to call Salt Lake City Police.
