ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Two people were killed and a third person severely injured in a head-on collision in southern Utah.
St. George police Sgt. Craig Harding says neither driver appeared to brake during the 7:15 p.m. accident Saturday. Police say a truck driven by 24-year-old Kevin Tobias Barrick was headed south when it drifted across the center line of a city street and collided head-on with a car driven by Aston Pugmire.
Harding says Barrick was pronounced dead at the scene. Pugmire died later at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Her husband, Deward Pugmire, suffered multiple bone fractures on his left side and was hospitalized.
Police say Barrick may have tried to avoid the collision. An investigation is ongoing.
