PROVO — National Signing Day is Wednesday and the best high school football players in the state are making their college decisions.
All-state defensive end and outside linebacker Gabe Reid from Class 4A state champion Timpview announced his commitment to Stanford on Monday night. The 6-foot-2, 3-star defender also considered BYU and Utah before choosing the Cardinal.
Reid was the No. 2 outside linebacker prospect in the state of Utah, according to Scout.com.
BYU got some good news on Monday, however, when four-star defensive back Dayan Lake of Northridge re-committed to the Cougars. The 5-foot-10 cornerback de-committed from BYU a few weeks ago, but reaffirmed his commitment after attending Saturday's BYU basketball game with a handful of other recruits during his official visit.
Hurricane running back and linebacker Jeremiah Ieremia also reaffirmed his commitment to BYU. The 3AA most valuable player led the Tigers to the state title game and announced his commitment on his Twitter account Monday evening.
