(KSL News) -- A South Salt Lake family is catching up with an old friend today after they thought he was gone for good.
Puppers disappeared from the Bankhead household almost three years ago. Today, he was reunited with his family safe and sound.
Puppers was found wandering the streets. Luckily, he was micro-chipped and his owner's information was current. At first Puppers' owners didn't believe he had been found, and they're surprised at how well their pet held up.
Dan Bankhead, Dog's Owner: "A little ratty, definitely needs a bath and a haircut. But overall, he looks great. He looks very healthy. Whatever he's been doing for the last few years, ya know, he doesn't look too bad, too worse for the wear."
The Bankheads have since gotten a new dog, but are excited to welcome back their old friend.
