SAN DIEGO (AP) — Aqeel Quinn scored 16 points and Winston Shepard had 11 points and nine rebounds to lead San Diego State to a 58-47 victory against Fresno State on Tuesday night, the Aztecs' fifth win in six games.

The Aztecs (16-5, 6-2 Mountain West) avenged a 59-57 loss at Fresno on Jan. 3 that snapped a streak of 47 straight victories against California teams. They also bounced back from a 79-73 loss at Colorado State on Saturday.

JJ O'Brien added 12 for the Aztecs and reserve big man Angelo Chol scored 10. Chol had six points during a 7-0 run that extended SDSU's lead to 43-26 with 12:14 to go. Chol made a bank shot, a slam dunk and a jumper.

Marvelle Harris scored 13 for Fresno State (10-11, 5-3). Harris, tied for second in the MWC at 17.9 points per game, injured a knee midway through the second half but later returned. Paul Watson scored 10.
