CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada conservative activist is launching a number of PACs designed to recall three southern Nevada Republicans who haven't staked out a strong anti-tax stance. Citizen Outreach President Chuck Muth said he's helping oversee political action committees designed to recall Republican Assembly members Chris Edwards, Stephen Silberkraus and Speaker-designate John Hambrick.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The owner of three Pahrump Vegas and 48 taverns across the state plans to merge with a Minnesota-based casino company. The company that operates as Golden Gaming announced the merger with Minnesota-based Lakes Entertainment yesterday. Lakes Entertainment owns the Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Cumberland, Maryland.

Organizers say the eighth Southern Nevada Homeless Census aims to collect data crucial for Clark County to qualify for federal grants for homeless programs.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada state officials are inviting construction firm owners to take part in an upcoming building trades hiring event at the Cashman Center conference hall in Las Vegas. Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation chief Don Soderberg says the March 3 job fair aims to help employers find experienced tradespeople now that the economy is improving.
