REXBURG, Idaho (AP) — Rexburg police say an officer shot and killed a man who had just robbed a drugstore on Saturday. The Post Register reports that police say the man fired as he was fleeing the store. Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis declined to say how many shots were fired or how many times the gunman was struck by bullets. No one else was injured.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Falls City Council is considering scrapping an ordinance that requires runoff elections for mayor and council seats. The Post Register reports that some say runoff elections are too costly and turnout for them is low. The requirement has been in place since 2005, but 2013 was the first time a runoff election was conducted. The city says that runoff race cost the city at least $29,000.

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — An Idaho man convicted of killing a man outside of a strip club in the western North Dakota oil patch hub of Williston is appealing his conviction to the state Supreme Court. Jonathan Horvath is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for the March 2013 death of 28-year-old Derrick Spiegel of Williston.

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) — A southeast Idaho charter school has discovered that a bus it recently purchased was used in the 2004 quirky comedy movie "Napoleon Dynamite." Blackfoot Charter Community Learning Center transportation director Brian Thelin tells the Idaho State that kids love riding in the bus and they plan to keep using it.
